When he knocked at the door, I was not ready yet,
but I had no choice but open and let him in ,
so with a last fleeting glance I tried to absorb
those traces of life I was going to leave behind me.
With a slight wavering, just an unperceivable tremble
I accepted his hand on mine following his slow paced gait.
- I am ready Sir - I told him, and he nodded in approval
- Let’s go then, do not further hesitate,
the time arrived and the pact was respected.
